Breathe Reformed Baptist Church is becoming Calvary Covenant!
This is more than a name change—it marks a new chapter in the life of our church as we join the Calvary Family of Churches (CFC). This transition reflects a prayerful and intentional step toward strengthening our mission and expanding our gospel impact.
A Shared Mission and Commitment
At the heart of this decision is a deep alignment in mission and vision.
We exist to glorify God by helping people follow the biblical Jesus through gospel-centered community. We strive to be a grace-filled community that prioritizes biblical and faithful worship, that cultivates disciple-making disciples amidst thriving families and vibrant relationships, overflowing with local and global impact for the gospel.
The CFC summarizes this beautifully:
To make Jesus non-ignorable by making joyful, passionate disciples of Jesus in Colorado Springs and to the ends of the earth.
Our core values also closely align:
• We prioritize God’s Word → Grow to know God deeply
• We center our lives on worship → Worship God passionately
• We pursue authentic community → Connect with one another authentically
• We live on mission → Go, show, and tell the gospel boldly
In other words, we are joining a family of churches that already shares our theological convictions and ministry philosophy. This isn’t a shift in direction but a strengthening of what we are already doing.
A Greater Opportunity for the Gospel in Colorado Springs
Joining the CFC allows us to link arms with like-minded churches to advance the gospel more effectively. Through this partnership, we gain strengthened support and care for our leaders, training resources, opportunities for collaboration, encouragement, prayer, and a shared vision for multiplying churches. Rather than building these structures on our own over many years, we are able to step into a healthy, established network and move forward together more effectively for the sake of the Kingdom.
The CFC began in Denver, and many of its churches are located there. As we join, we will be the only CFC church in Colorado Springs… for now! This creates a unique opportunity. We desire to embody and spread the “Kingdom over castle” mindset here by partnering with like-minded churches, not competing with them, for the sake of the gospel. Our hope is to serve as a hub for collaboration, church planting, and revitalization in Colorado Springs.
Not Losing Who We Are
Joining the CFC does not mean losing our identity—it means stepping into a new season!
Our preaching, theology, leadership, and local church authority remain the same. What changes is that we now belong to a broader family, strengthening our ability to reach people with the gospel, develop leaders, and live on mission.
Looking Ahead
We are excited about what the Lord is doing. As Calvary Covenant, we step forward with the same passion for Jesus, the same commitment to the gospel, and a renewed opportunity to lift up the name of Jesus here in Colorado Springs and to the ends of the earth.
Because in the end, our identity is not in a name. It is in Christ. And our calling remains the same: to make Him non-ignorable.
Join us on June 14, 2026, at the church as we re-launch into our community as Calvary Covenant! We are located at 3464 W. Carefree Circle, 80917. Our worship service starts at 10:30, followed by lunch and family fun.
The Significance of the Name “Calvary Covenant”
The name Calvary Covenant is both intentional and meaningful, reflecting who we are and what we believe.
First, “Calvary” connects us to the Calvary Family of Churches. It identifies us as part of a larger family of churches united around a shared mission—to make Jesus non-ignorable.
Second, “Covenant” reflects the theological framework we joyfully affirm. Scripture tells the story of God relating to His people through covenant, culminating in the New Covenant established through Christ. This word anchors us in a distinctly biblical and historic understanding of God’s redemptive work.
Third, “Covenant” also speaks to the kind of community we are called to be. It communicates a commitment to deep, meaningful, and enduring relationships, walking together in faith, love, and accountability as the people of God.
Finally, and most important, “Calvary Covenant” points us to the heart of the gospel. At Calvary, Jesus Christ established the New Covenant of Grace through His blood, securing the forgiveness of sins, reconciling His people to God, and initiating the restoration of all things.
This name is not just an identity marker—it is a declaration of the gospel we believe, the community we pursue, and the mission we are called to live out.
